Unex Technology Empowers EU-Funded Project PROTEKT to Advance V2X Safety for Vulnerable Road Users Mar-18-2026,Hsinchu – Unex Technology, the global leader in V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) System-on-Module (SOM) solutions, is proud to announce its strategic collaboration with the TU Dresden – ITVS within the framework of the prestigious EU-funded project, PROTEKT. This partnership marks a significant milestone in Unex’s expansion within the European automotive ecosystem and its commitment to global road safety.
Technical Synergy for WP#4 Within the PROTEKT project’s Work Package #4, “Road safety with innovative technologies,” Unex serves as the core technology enabler. The initiative aims to create an “inclusive digital shield” for Vulnerable Road Users (VRUs)—such as pedestrians and cyclists—by utilizing real-time V2X communication to mitigate accident risks.
Accelerating R&D with V2Xcast® to meet the project’s ambitious goal of delivering a functional prototype by the second half of 2026, Unex is providing its state-of-the-art V2X System-on-Modules (SOM) integrated with the renowned V2Xcast® software stack.
By leveraging Unex’s production-ready hardware and flexible software framework, the TU Dresden – ITVS research team can bypass the complexities of low-level V2X protocol integration. This allows them to focus exclusively on developing high-impact applications for VRU protection and smart public transport in the project’s model regions.
